Panorama of World Art Series: Art of the Far East

$ 25.00

Munsterberg, Hugo. Harry N. Abrams, Inc. New York. 1968

The oldest artistic tradition in the world today, with a continuous history stretching back for more than four thousand years, is that of the Far East.  The Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and Minoan civilizations may have earlier beginnings, but none of these has survived as a motivating force in modern times.  In even the most advanced present-day arts of China, Korea, and Japan the lineage is quite apparent, and it goes as far back as the Neolithic cultures that flourished in those areas while the Great Pyramids of Egypt were still new and Stonehenge had not been built.
