The version of the Saga of the Greenlanders. published here is based on the Flateyarbok manuscript written in the last quarter of the 14th Century. The Part of the Saga of Eirik the Red included in the book is given according to the Skalholtsbok manuscript,dating from the latter half of the 15th Century. The English texts are besed on Professor Anne Holtsmark's version in "Vinland det gode" published for private circulation in 1964 by Fabritius & Sonner (Institusjonen Scheiber)
